４）芭蕉ほか

芭蕉作品３句。

永き日も囀り足らぬひばり哉     松尾芭蕉

  a singing skylark / even long light hours / not long enough    (MATSUO Basho)

原中やものにもつかず啼く雲雀     松尾芭蕉

  in an open field / not in touch with anything / a skylark is singing   (MATSUO Basho)

春なれや名もなき山の薄霞     松尾芭蕉

  it's spring indeed / indistinctive mountains / in thin haze   (MATSUO Basho)

１句目、元句を大きく解体して再構成（作法１）。

２句目、「原」は樹木が茂っていない「field」、つまり「open field」。中句の訳、四苦八苦の末、到着。

３句目、「春なれや」は春を実感、確認。「名もなき」は既訳で「nameless」、「unnamed」、「has no name」、「without a name」など（参照）。すべて「も」を考慮せず。「も」があるので、「ごくありふれた」の意のはず。「薄霞」は「朝霞」とする版もあるようです（参照）。その場合「in morning haze」。繰り返されるinが韻となっています。
